WOW! On a eu du plaisir avec Bubbles de Starr Gymnastics mercredi! On a du talent dans notre classe! Hello to my new Grade 6 class and families!
I was excited to get started with this New Year and meet you all. Before doing so this week, I heard only good things and was eager to be a part of your learning experiences. Now that I have met you, I am happy to confirm that all the good I heard was certainly true. I look forward to teaching and learning with all of you this year. I encourage you to continue bringing your unique gifts and talents into our classroom community and sharing your energy and knowledge with all of us.
Mme Rossi Dear Students, Parents and Families, Wow, what a start to the grade 6 year! To better state that - what a GREAT start to the year! Each of you has brought such joy and happiness to our classroom. I was so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of children the past three years. They all have touched my life and this school year in very positive and rewarding ways. I am not going to say goodbye, since I will see many of you in our community, at St. James events and your grade 6 graduation! I wish you all the best for 2014! Did you hear?!! Your new teachers will be....drum roll please.... Mrs. Voisin and Mme Rossi! Win win for everyone :) XO Mme Cadieux and Tyson As our 'end of 2013 party' the class voted and decided to play our own version of the TV game show "Minute to Win It". Three years in a row...We can now call it a tradition! We had a lot of fun, we saw some great teamwork, positive attitudes and found out that the games weren't always as easy as they seemed! The students faced 4 challenges: 1. Cup Stacking: Use 36 plastic cups to erect a triangle-shaped structure, then move them all into a single stack. 2. Face the cookie: Using only their face, contestants must move a cookie from their foreheads to their mouths. 3. Separation Anxiety: With one hand, player must separate a pile of 50 multicolored chocolate covered candies into 5 separate containers in a set color order. 4. Nose Dive:Player must transfer cotton balls, 1 at a time from 1 serving bowl to another using only petroleum jelly on the nose. Our classroom is starting to look a lot like Christmas! It’s SUCH fun! We are all very excited for the holidays!!! To add to the holiday ambiance in class and REVIEW MATH ANGLES, we made these gorgeous hanging stars! Hope they made them home so you could enjoy them too :) http://www.themagiconions.com/2009/12/make-hanging-christmas-stars.html This year we decided to let the students take full ownership of the door decorating contest! They were in charge of coming up with an idea, planning and building our Christmas themed door,,,My students went above and beyond what I expected! WOW...soooooo impressed! The voting will take place Friday and Mme Rossi and I have an awesome feeling about this contest...However, win or loose...it was great to see the participation, collaboration and pride shown by all 24 of you!
