Today during our Talking Circle, a student asked a great question... ? What is a geometric shape ? Lets explore this further. How can we answer this? Define? Explain? Examples?
So the answer is... a geometric shape is any shape that we've learned or you'll see in the world as in...A circle, sphere, trapezoid, star. Also a geometric shape can be connected to make one thing like a chair or a tree.

well the internet says that a geometric shape is a distinct object that has an external surface or specific outline or form. Common geometric shapes include squares, triangles, circles and rhombuses.

I agree with will and how geometric shap is something we learned last year and how it's somthing it can be connected to make somthing like a tree or a chair it also a shap like a sercle trapezoid .

Geometric shapes are found practically everywhere, although they often go unnoticed because
. Providing examples of geometric shapes as in circle pyramid and star.We know this because

A geometric shape is a shape that relates to the field and study of geometry in some way, shape or form. In order to relate to the field of geometry, this shape must generally resemble rectilinear or various lines and figures within the study of geometry and everything in the world is a geometric shape!!! We think this because this is the answer we found on almost every website and it makes sense to us :) So ya

We agree with Will and Sophia, but we also think that a geometric shape is any closed object and can also be made out of other objects.
Ex. A water bottle is normally made out of a cylinder.
The most common types of geometric shapes are circles, triangles, and rhombuses

Our group thinks that a geometric shape is an object with a defined form or outline.

it is a shapethat has hight and curvers like a pentagon, pyramid, cubes, ellipsoid
We think a geometric shape is a mathematical term for a series of shapes called a polygon, which everything should be a shape even some don't look like it (ex. chair or tree is a cylinder.

A geometric shape is an object in the world that is enclosed. Every thing might not be a geometric shape but is composed of many geometric shapes which might even lead to the microscopic level.
If you would like to learn more then here is a link to Wikipedia on geometric shape http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertex_(geometry

- a geometric shape is any closed figure ex. Triangle, circle, square, pyramids, and prisms.
- they are everywhere
-one idem is not a always a geometric shape but a whole bunch

Ex. A chair has:
2 large rectangles for the seat and back
2 long bent cylinders for the legs
2 rectangular prisms to keep the legs in place
